I could have brought that little monkey in my luggage <3

Last day in paradise, had the opportunity to see some of the most beautiful places of the island and to meet locals who were happy to share some pieces of information about Mauritius, the culture, the religion, their habits… best way to end the year.

Time to get ready to start 2017…

Back to one of my favorite place on earth

I stayed at Lux Belle Mare, this 5-star hotel faces the largest lagoon in Mauritius, It’s located in Belle Mare City and is surrounded by the most amazing turquoise waters I have ever seen and white sandy beaches. I liked everything there, especially the food; with four restaurants offering international dishes, there’s plenty of choice. In addition a lobby coffee shop serves LUX’s own brand coffee and an old yellow food truck serves burger and tacos.

I had the best Indian food at Amari by Vineet, they serve modern dishes such as fish encrusted with coconut and peanut chutney and baked in a banana leaf. I also enjoyed lots of cocktails at the Mediterranean-style Beach Rouge, the atmosphere there looks like St-Tropez, loud music, good drinks, red and white furniture…

I’ll definitely go back there!

Lush – oxford street

I first heard of Lush last year while reading a magazine, I was curious about it so I went to a Lush shop and I fell in love the second I walked in the door. There was a nice and natural smell right away, and so many colours everywhere ! It made me want to buy everything. And since I’m into animals, I was happy to hear that Lush is against animal testing. The products are handmade, fresh (natural ingredients and safe synthetics), green, organic, tested on humans (not animals), and made with the finest essential oils. This lush store in oxford circus it’s the biggest Lush store in the World, it is definitly worth a visit!!!

Here are my favourite :

For the face : « Let the good times roll » The perfect recipe to gently exfoliate, moisturise and soften your skin, For me it’s one of Lush’s best products and the smell is just incredible.

For my lips : « Popcorn » : with that my lips felt more toned and resilient and the scrub removed all of the pesky dry skin. It’s a perfect accompaniment in the winter months.

Shower gel : « Rose Jam » because of the smell

For my body : « Charity Pot » As it is said on the tub, 100% of the money made from the sale of this lotion goes towards a good causes. Charity Pot is described by Lush as an ‘all-round body lotion and I fin dit very hydrating.

For the bath : all the bath bomb are crazy…

Sky Garden

A few days ago I went to Sky Garden

The gardens are placed on top of the ‘walkie talkie’ building around 30 floors up! You don’t have to pay anything, but you have to book in advance.

There’s an outside balcony area which you can look out over London from, and even though the day was pretty grey, we still had an amazing view. There’s also a restaurant and a cafe but we didn’t take anything apart from a glass of wine. The atmosphere inside is really crazy, you feel so good, one of the best things to do in London !

The Mae Deli

Best breakfast in London!

I’ve been following Ella Woodward on Instagram and her blog for a long time so I couldn’t wait to try her restaurant during my next trip to London.

There it’s all about delicious, natural, and seasonal food. The menu is entirely free from wheat, dairy, additives, and refined sugar.

In the mornings, choose from a base of oat porridge, coyo, acai or chia pudding and choose 3 toppings : house-made granola, fruit compote, coconut flakes and nut butter. If toast is more your thing, go for the one with smashed avo or the deli’s version of PB&J. Later in the day, you can have a bowl with 4 different kinds of salads of meals like miso and sesame glazed aubergine, maple roasted sweet potato, wild rice salad… You can even add a portion of salmon or chicken to your salad plate.

This weekend I went to VegFestLondon, A major vegan food festival in London’s Kensington Olympia.

Vegfest UK features food stalls, live cookery demos, cookery classes, workshops, fashion stalls and even a vegan body building contest.

I used to eat a lot of meat in the past, but then I realised how bad it was. I am not ready to give up meat and fish entirely but I try to avoid it as much as possible. I feel bad about how much it affects the environment, and about the animals… but above all, I feel so much better when I eat vegetarian/vegan,.. That’s what I love about London, they are so open-minded about different food and you can find so many good Vegetarian/vegan/healthy restaurants. I wish it would be the same in switzerland…

discovery of the day: the oat milk: Oatly. This brand from Sweden can now be found in several different european countries.

Yesterday night at Duck & waffle.

I have no words to describe it. My best night since I have been arriving here. The view was as stunning as expected and the food was amazing too!

The restaurant was very busy and as it’s one of the most popular in London, it’s very hard to get a booking – I booked a few weeks in advance for a Monday night.

We shared the dish that provided the name of the restaurant ; the « duck&waffle » The leg of confit duck was perfectly crisp and the mustard maple syrup was also incredible. In addition to that, I tried the « foie gras crème brûlé », a must order, and the glazed lamb… plus a dessert because I always have place for dessert!

A nice bar, fantastic atmosphere, a wonderful view AND delicious food . and even better ; Duck & Waffle is open twenty-four hours a day, Maybe I should try it once as an after-party…?

About me

19 year old Swiss girl with a passion for travel. I live most of the time here in switzerland but I also spend a lot of time time in the french riviera where I have a second home. I started to share my adventure on instagram but I quickly felt that it wasn’t enough for me, so I decided to share my story here so I can document my life and be able to go back and see all I’ve been doing.

I am going to live in London for the next three months, and I will try to discover this incroedible city as much as I can.

I live my life to the fullest and I enjoy every single second.

Life is short and the world is wide

Map of the worldMap of the world Map of the world

You know that feeling when your thoughts are bigger than what your brain can stand ? When you want to discover so much but life cannot be long enough to see all what you want in the world ? when you feel like your home is so many different place at once but you have to choose and ask yoursel where is my final destination ?

I am leaving home for the next few months, trying to find myself because life is short and the world is wide.
